Yeatman High School opened in September of 1904 at 3616 North Garrison Ave. It was renamed Central High School in 1927. Central High School ceased to exist in 1984 when it became the Central Visual and Performing Arts.

Giles married Annie Celeste Holmes about 1877. Annie was born on July 6, 1856 in Kenton, Ohio, died on March 21, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri at age 72, and was buried in Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

i. Dr. John Holmes Crenshaw M.D. was born on August 11, 1877 in Amity, Dekalb County, Missouri.
