Pfalzer Bund was founded Sept, 1888 at 2602 S. Broadway in St. Louis, Missouri. Karen Charen’s great grandfather was a founding member. They met, at least sometimes, at South St. Louis Turnvereins. Karen has a Silver Anniversary book (1913) for this organization which lists its members (70) at that time and their hometowns. Almost all of the names listed have an accompanying photo. The whole book is in German including German script. It consisted of men who were from the Pfalz-Rhein-Palitinate region of Germany, then Baveria. The organization is mentioned in AUSWANDER in an article by Roland Paul entitled "Emigration from the Palitinate to North America from 17th to 20th Century." Karen believes the group was in the Soulard area.
